The Three Brothers was an alliance of humans and gargoyles formed by Kings Duff, Kenneth II, and Prince Malcolm in the late 960s until the 990s.
History[]
After Prince Malcolm was born at Edinburgh Castle in 954 A.D., the three brothers lived together under their father, King Maol Chalvim I and his young Queen Katharine for thirteen years.[1] King Duff was the first of his brothers to die at the Battle of Gaine in 967. In 971, Malcolm and his friend Robert was able to form an alliance with the Rhydderch of Wyvern Clan. When Kenneth II led the first human-Gargoyle alliance against King Culén his shield showed the standard of three swords representing himself and his brothers.[2]
Following Culén's defeat, the light-bringers told the story of the Three Brothers to locals, both humans and gargoyles. Even Malcolm and Captain Robert listened to the story.[3] Prince Malcolm would die some time[4] after the Archmage's attempt on his life.[5] Kenneth II would eventually be murdered in 995 by Culén's son, Constantine.[6]
Kenneth III would lead another human-gargoyle alliance against Constantine. In 997, Kenneth III's banner was still the Standard of the Three Brothers.[7]
